Hello fellow photographers and travelers!
Hard to believe summer is finally here after the cold, wet, wintry spring we had here in Montana.
I hope you are having a great spring. Here in Montana we finally received some substantial rains so everything is nice and green! Before I head to Africa for most of June I wanted to alert everyone to some new trip offerings for the remainder of this year and next.
I hope you have been having a fun summer and are looking forward to the fall season with cameras ready.
I had a great time with fun loving folks in June traveling to Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) for 3 weeks. I will soon be posting images from the trip on my website, I'm still sorting through the thousands of images from the trip! I do plan to offer a similar trip to Africa in 2017, please let me know if you are interested as spaces will be limited.
Did learn something about my Canon EOS 1DX camera body on this trip which I thought I would pass along. While photographing at night I accidently pressed the button below the image review arrow. This button is the one which shows which of the two memory cards you are currently using as well as Folder & File. Well it turns out that if you press that button you can change your Raw settings to small jpeg! It took me a few hours into my next day's photo shoot to notice that I was shooting small jpegs!! So if you don't want to make the mistake I did please go into Menu, find Rec card, image size setting and turn to OFF.
On another note: many of you have noticed that I am not offering as many trips as I have in the past. I am slowly moving into retirement and plan to offer less tours. I still hope to do a couple of overseas trips to places like Africa and South America each year, but the smaller weekend tours will not happen as often. My plan is to work more on book projects and stock sales. That said I still have a few spots left on my Yellowstone Winter tour in January 2016. In the future tours like this will only be for groups of 6-8 folks on a custom basis (you supply the folks and I plan the trip), I plan to do the same with my wild horses tours in the Pryor Mountains of Montana.
If you are interested in Yellowstone this winter please respond by September 1. Remember I worked in Yellowstone for 15 years and have been leading winter tours into the interior of the park for some time.
Still plenty of space on the 2016 Atacama/Falklands/Pumas trip to South America. I am currently looking at adding a pre-trip of Jaguars in the Pantanal of Brazil and hope to know more real soon.
I hope you all have a great fall!
