...hope you are enjoying the summer weather!
This spring was busy for me with the trip to Africa (see trip report), which by the way was fantastic! I personally took over 11,000 images on this one. Speaking of Africa I have just 4 spaces left for Botswana and South Africa next August (2013)... there will also be a pre-trip to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. If you have always wanted to travel to Africa this may be the trip for you. We will be staying in style at some very nice lodges while photographing in prime habitat for elephants, hippo, crocodile (from a special photography boat) and leopard. I suggest you not wait long in signing up as I do expect this trip to fill up soon!!
The baby animals shoot in Minnesota was great fun and I plan to offer this one again. Before then I am offering a winter trip to the same place in Minnesota to photograph wolves, coyote, fox, cougar, lynx and bobcat in snow and cold.
I'm also just back from leading a trip to the Pryor Mountains of Montana for Wild Horses. This herd of mustangs is one of the most workable in North America and I'm one of just a handful of photo leaders with a BLM permit for the area.
It took awhile this year to get pricing for the 2 winter trips I lead into Yellowstone. The price is now set and I am now taking deposits for the two trips - Winter & Deluxe. Please do not delay in signing up as I need to put deposit money down on snow coaches and rooms asap!! These are always fun trips. Remember I have spent over 35 years working and photographing in this winter wonderland.
I am now also taking deposits for Patagonia and Easter Island. This should be a great trip with us going during their spring, thus flowers in the foreground of spectacular mountain scenes!! This will be my first time visiting Easter Island, a place I have wanted to visit since I was a kid.
Last but not least I still have 2 spaces available on the brown bear trip to Katmai in Alaska this August. This is a trip I have been leading for more than 15 years and it just doesn't get old. We live off a boat and photograph bears fishing for salmon in the spawning streams.
Hope to see many of you in the coming year!- Mike
