Hello Friends, Travelers and Fellow Photographers!
Hard to believe spring will soon be over!
I haven't scheduled a trip back to Texas for white-tail deer, native birds and exotics but if I were to hear from 4 photographers I would be most happy to put together a trip in late October. The trip takes place on a private ranch that caters to photographers. We will be doing photography mostly out of photo blinds. This ranch has the largest whitetail bucks I have ever photographed. Check out the photos! The food and accommodations are first rate. This trip is a favorite of mine.
I am also offering Yellowstone in Winter during January 2018. This is a trip I have offered many times in the past, however I have recently changed the trip to include stays in West Yellowstone, Old Faithful Snow Lodge and the Canyon Yurt Camp. Visit \0x93Wonderland\0x94 with someone who has more than 35 years' experience in the park! This past winter the group had a great time. We had more snow and cold than in past winters and the photography and wildlife viewing were first class. In fact we had three straight days with red fox, coyote and wolf sightings, and two days of river otter photography. Check out some images from this past trip. Space is limited so please sign up soon.
More and more individuals have contacted me in the past few years to offer private tours of Yellowstone. Most have been from out of the country and are looking for someone to guide them to hot spots and save them the time and effort of learning the park. Others are family groups, individuals, or professional photographers with special needs for upcoming projects. Keep me in mind if you want someone familiar with the park for guide services. I do have the necessary NPS guide permits.
I am looking forward to Africa in August '17. The tour includes the photo hot spots of Chobe, Botswana and Maasai Mara, Kenya. We will tour Chobe by special photography boats. This will be the third time I have done this boat trip on the Chobe. This place produces with both mammals and birdlife! Then it is on to the Mara in hopes of catching the action of the wildebeest migration. Here too we will be in specialized photo vehicles, each photographer with a captain's chair that rotates 360 degrees with Wimberley head for action shots. I am offering a very limited post trip to Etosha NP in Namibia and have one space on the Etosha portion open. Contact me today if you are interested in this incredible wildlife spectacle.
Although I hope to continue to offer a handful of trips in the future I am tapering down. I plan to do more book projects and solo trips in the field. Speaking of book projects I am currently busy scanning from my collection of Yellowstone historical images that I have been collecting the past 40 years. My goal is to put together one or more books from these files. However I know many of you had family members visit the park in the past and if you are willing to share family albums with me that would be great as maybe some of your relatives could end up in print!
Hope to see you in the field soon.
