2009 North Dakota Wildlife Model Shoot

For the third time in three years I once again led the photo shoot for Minnesota Wildlife Connection to the badlands of North Dakota. As always we were there the last weekend of April. This year the weather was a mixed bag with wind, cold, snow, and rain with a few sun breaks.

Lee was able once again to bring month old wolf pups to the photo shoot along with cougar, wolves, coyote, bobcat, and badger. We were able to do fantastic silhouettes of these animals during sunrise and sunset.

I also set up photo blinds on sharp-tail grouse dancing leks where we had numerous birds performing in front of us.

During the afternoon hours we visited Theodore Roosevelt National Park where we photographed bison, wild horses, deer, golden eagles and wild turkey.
