During the week of January 26- February 2 2008 I led a winter trip into Yellowstone National Park. This is a trip I have done numerous times. This winter there was more snow than we have had in many winters! In fact the day we went to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone we were going through snow drifts so high the snow was going over the coaches as we broke trail. We had good luck with elk, bison and trumpeter swans, mostly along the Madison River. We were also witness to the first branches being added to a new bald eagle nest. Ghost trees were especially good at Midway Geyser Basin. On the last day of the trip we observed and photographed 10 wolves near Tower Junction.
